After all the excitement of Australia, we spent the weekend of October 13-15, 2012, just hanging out at our home in St. George.
There was an orchid waiting for us when we arrived. Joshua and Ashley Moreland spent their vacation in St. George staying at our house and climbing in Snow Canyon, and they left a thank you note and flower. We enjoyed that little luxury as we unwound.
It had been a month or more since we were in St. George, and we appreciated anew our beautiful home and neighborhood. I took a long walk, checking out the exotic desert plants and the neighbors' Halloween decorations.
Dave caught a football game or two on TV.
The highlight of the weekend was the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City. The drive to Cedar City was beautiful, and the trees were turning when we got there, with the fall flowers in bloom.
We watched "Stones in His Pockets," a bittersweet play about aspiring actors working as extras in an American movie being made in Ireland. The play was set in County Kerry, where Dave and I spent a week last year.

Looks like another fun time. We can't wait to spend a weekend in St. George this winter when we're in town.
One of the things I'm most looking forward to about returning from Australia is visiting St. George. What a great vacation home to relax at!
