The Non-trekkers

On June 30, 2015, Steve and Camille, Emilie, and Jono Ebert marched off on the Holladay South Stake Trek--four days of pulling a handcart through Wyoming and learning about the Mormon pioneers.  Steve and Camille were "Ma" and "Pa" to eight trekkers and, as Camille described it on Instagram, "Love these pioneer kids of ours!  90 degrees, 28 miles, 8 kids, 4 days, 1 overloaded handcart, 0 showers.  Kinda like eating your veggies."  The Ebert little guys had an easier time.  Annelise tended during the day and her grandmas and grandpas traded off at night.
On Tuesday night, dinner was at Noodles & Company, after a swim at the Northcrest Swim Club.  Mike and Heidi came along, as did Grandpa David.
Afterwards, Grandma Gretta took the crowd to Toys R Us to pick out overdue birthday gifts for Mia and Ezra.

The kids spent the night in Grandma and Grandpa's "bunk room," decorated with horsehair-covered chairs, a saddle with stairs to climb up on it, and an old trunk from the 1870s, used by the kids' Great-great-grandmother Eyring.  In the morning, Sophia helped Grandma make buttermilk pancakes.

It is a major accomplishment to pour from one of those huge orange juice jugs.

Before leaving for their tour of Temple Square, Ezra showed off his choice of birthday gifts--a huge mallet (use and availability to be determined by his mom, not Grandma).
Mia chose a collection of household appliances as her gift, including this blender with beaters that turn and whir!
