The Spendlove kids and grandkids relished the water and lush trees which define Tennessee. The kids spent one day hiking to a waterfall at a state park and another day swimming and paddle boating in the lake near our condo.
There was a sandy beach and a jumping platform in the lake.
Jonny hung out with the little kids as they sat on the picnic table in their swimsuits, eating snacks, and the Flindt and Ebert kids mingled happily.
Mia oversaw it all.
Jonno and Spencer also found a basketball to share.
One day, I got sick and spent a frustrating morning at a walk-in clinic in Crossville. There was a huge "Walk-ins Welcome" sign on the front, which signaled the type of place it was. A loop video showing pictures of hairy backs and lumpy buttocks cycled in the waiting room, with ads for how the doctor might cure those dangerous conditions. My children and grandchildren spent the day much more profitably at Fall Creek Falls State Park.
They relaxed along the hiking trail.
They walked along a narrow bridge.
They perched in the middle of the stream.
They played in the waterfalls.
They waded and paddled around a swimming hole.
For Michael, Spencer, Grant, and Jonno, taking pictures with cell phones was great fun, the more bizarre the better!

We missed you that day! That was a highlight. We can't wait to see all the cousins again in a few weeks!
