Grant and Meg left for Dallas in mid-July 2022, for Grant to start medical school at Southwest Medical School in August. We wished Grant and Meg bon voyage on July 15, 2022, with a dinner featuring Welsh food. Meg's family emigrated from Wales and Grant also has Welsh blood (my great-great grandfather, John Bennion).
By chance, Alyssa was in town from Seattle the same weekend to take her ACT college entrance tests. She hopes to attend BYU next fall, following in the long trail of her brothers and her sister, Kirsten. We will miss Grant and Meg badly. We have loved having them visit from Provo during their years at BYU. But, we welcomed Alyssa this weekend and, hopefully, we will see her back in Utah next fall.
The menu included beef with Yorkshire pudding and raspberry trifle for dessert. Meg thought the trifle was so authentic that she asked for the recipe!
We invited Herb and JoDee Flindt, who are also Grant's grandparents.
Spencer has been especially close to Grant throughout his life. Naomi and Spencer will particularly miss Grant and also Meg, who has tended their toddler, Eliza.
The Eberts joined the group of well-wishers. Camille's daughter, Emilie, now lives in Dallas, so Camille may see Grant and Meg more than the rest of us will.
Heidi says that Audrey runs and runs until she just can't stay awake any more. Audrey crashed during dinner.
During Alyssa's time in SLC, we took her to the ethnic restaurants she loves. Indian naan and curry are favorites.
We ate a chili dinner at home with Naomi and Eliza.
And, we finished the restaurant browsing at Zao.
