Halloween with Camille (10.31.24)

Shadybrook Lane, where Camille and Steve live, is also "Halloween Street".  Each October 31, their cul-de-sac closes off the street to cars, adopts a theme, and has each house decorated according to that theme.  This year the theme was "It's a Small World," and Camille and Steve's house was decorated for the United States, with everything Western.

On Halloween 2024 we joined Camille and Steve for the celebration.

Camille waited for trick-or-treaters on her steps, with a basket of treats.  Children came from all over the city to visit Camille's unique street.
One of Camille's neighbors decorated their house as "Mexico" and hired a mariachi band to sing.
Camille's neighbors painted their faces, as the Mexicans do on the Day of the Dead, their Halloween.
There they were--the Mexican with his sombrero and the American cowboy with his 10-gallon hat.
Steve helped stoke the barrels of fire, placed up and down the street to keep people warm and create atmosphere.  Jonny stopped by for the spectacle, with his boys, Thomas and J.
Thomas was worn out from all his trick-or-treating.
J, in his tiger suit, didn't seem quite so stressed.
Back home at Camille's house, Ezra and Mia got ready to leave for Halloween parties with their friends.
