We heard great performers, the weekend of November 11, 2016. Dave gave a talk on loneliness in Sacrament Meeting. He used the example of Gary Cooper in the movie, High Noon, to describe the loneliness of moral courage. Dave used the experience of his daughter, Camille, in Boston, as an example of overcoming the loneliness of moving away from home and loved ones, and the experience of his brother, Alan Dale, as an example of overcoming the loneliness of divorce and the death of a child.
Sophia performed in her Sacrament Meeting, as well. She had the main part in the Primary Program. Sophia sat on a special stand, in front of the audience, reading a script with one of the adults from the ward, as the Primary classes performed behind her.
Both Dave and Sophia performed with vitality and grace, in their special venue, the Church chapel.
Dave and I also watched other star performers, the weekend of November 11, in their special venues. We bought tickets to see Jay Leno perform at the new Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake.
We also bought tickets to see Conductor Tierry Fischer conduct the Utah Symphony in the gold and crystal Abravanel Hall. What a treat it is to share in a performance well done!
