The Big Two

Henry turned two on November 5, 2017, and we celebrated his birthday on Thanksgiving weekend.
Steve and Camille hosted the party at their home, and Jonny provided the essentials--pizza, pinata, birthday cake, presents.
For a good party, you need fun guests, and we had them--Sophia, Ezra, and Mia, for starters.
 Grandpa was ready to party.
 So was Camille.
And the party was ready to roll once "Nana" and "Papa", Jenny's parents, arrived.  Unfortunately, this was a "Flindt day," rather than a "Spendlove day," for Lisa's family, so only Lisa joined us.  The rest of her family were visiting their Flindt cousins.
The birthday boy was perky and ready to have fun.
We began with pizza.
Then Henry and his pals swung at a pinata in the shape of Henry's favorite toy, a car.  Henry can already read the word "car," and responds,"Vroom! Vroom!"

Getting the stick to connect with the pinata is a big achievement, when you're two.
Sam took a few swipes, as Jonny took pictures.
Mia showed the little boys how to do it.
And Ezra was the heavy slugger who cracked the pinata wide open.
Henry gathered his share of candies and dollar bills, after the pinata broke.
Henry then opened presents. It was hard for Sam to relinquish his gift to his little brother.
Jonny helped Henry navigate the complexities of ribbon and tape.
And Sam got to hold and read the gift he gave to Henry!
We enjoyed spending an afternoon with Jenny's sweet mom and dad.

And finally--blowing out those two candles!

I got a kick out of all of these photos, from around the world and from Gretta and Dave's party circuit too. Miss you all and hope to see you soon. -Ryan (Calder)
