Taste of Prague

"Grandma, where are you taking me?" our grandson, Grant Flindt, asked, when we offered him supper on December 14, 2018, at Salt Lake City's Bohemian Brewery.  Grant recently returned from an LDS mission to Czech Republic and Slovakia.  While there, he not only drank no alcohol, but taught converts to give up their drinking habits.  "This is the only place in Salt Lake that serves good Czech food," I excused myself.  "We won't touch any of that brewery stuff."

The Central European food served at Bohemian Brewery was both luscious and authentic.  They served such Czech and Hungarian specialties as pork and sauerkraut, and goulash. They even served the bread dumplings that evade my cooking abilities.  ("Mix four cups of bread cubes into a sticky yeast dough, form into 3" x 8" logs, and poach in a pan of boiling water, then slice with thread.")
Grant not only shared a meal that tasted like his second home (Slovakia and Czech Republic), but he heard Slovakian being spoken as we walked out the door.  We must go back!
