Our niece, Jane Moench Green, married David Huisman on Friday, November 16, 2018. Dave and I stopped by their reception at Oakridge Country Club, north of Salt Lake City, as we drove north to spend the weekend in Afton and Jackson, Wyoming. David Huisman has just gotten his dream job as a pilot with Mesa Airlines, a regional carrier out of Phoenix. This is a second marriage for David and a third for Jane, but they are sure they have found the perfect partners this time around.
We love the chance to see our nieces and nephews. Jared was bouncing a baby daughter, his and Megan's third. He loves his job directing a TV series on finding lost relatives for BYU's TV channel.
I always enjoy talking with Megan about her family, who live on the plains of Canada, and about her frequent trips to Europe, where she uses the French she learned as a student in bilingual Canada. Megan is also a great organizer, and has been an LDS Relief Society president.
The oldest Moench daughter, Jeanine, was also at the reception with her married daughter, Taylor, who is a BYU student. Jeanine is a good manager, like her mother, and now supervises ten orthodontics clinics in Montgomery, Alabama.
Nancy was beautiful in long, navy blue lace dress, as mother of the bride. She was delighted that Jane has found such a steady, kindly husband
And Darrell heartily recommended retirement to us. He and Nancy zip around the country with their Corvette touring group, visit children in Ohio and Alabama, and then recover at their second home in St. George, Utah.
