Our very favorite play of the weekend was "Dear Jack, Dear Louise." The playwright, Ken Ludwig, told the story of his parents' romance during World War II, through their letters to each other. Louise tried to make her way as a dancer on Broadway while Jack served as an Army surgeon in Oregon and then in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. He went MIA, to Louise's horror, but they found each other at the VE Day celebration in Times Square. A tear jerker with a true life happy ending.

Dave and I are not usually fans of farce, but "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" was very witty. I told of an aspiring heir who killed one relative after another to claw his way to a rich inheritance. We enjoy just wandering the Shakespeare Festival grounds, checking out statues like this one.Cedar City used to have just one or two good restaurants, but now there are many. We regularly visit Chef Alred's Italian Restaurant. The special was especially good--salmon stuffed with crab meat, topped with fried shrimp, and served on a bed of risotto.
