The snow fell and fell, the weekend on January 8. I walked around the neighborhood in the twilight, snapping the magic of the new snow.
The lights were still up on the Miller home, with views of the city behind.
The gate beckoned me into the Johnson's old home, with memories of years and years back.
The old farm equipment at the Poelman's home was lonely and evocative, and the weeds behind our house made patterns in the snow.
It was cozy back home, with Nancy and Darrell joining us for a last football bowl game.
During the weekend, we also visited the Carl Bloch exhibit at the BYU Art Museum with Russ and Marilyn McSweeney.
Carl Bloch is a Danish painter from the 1800s who has become very popular with the Mormons.
His paintings have been used on many books and magazines...
and the Church bought one altar piece for its Museum. This exhibit was the first time that Bloch's five major altar pieces from various Danish churches had all been together.
The exhibit also showed works by a French painter of the 1800s, James Tissot, from his illustrated New Testament. For religious art, the BYU Art Museum is extraordinary.
