This year's ward Christmas party was pretty tame, after the Nauvoo Christmas in 2009 and the 1940s Christmas in 2007. Still, we had fun. Gretta and Dave gave a couple of dozen bells, 80 yards of ribbon, and piles of greens to Candy Seedall and Wilma Livsey, two of the ward's best flower arrangers, and they transformed the cultural hall (almost). Gretta cut out 60 huge snowflakes for the walls.
The McSweeneys recommended a Columbian caterer who provided delicious roast beef and mint chocolate cake.
The program was the Moench Strings, a group of 4 to 14-year-old players of violins, violas, and basses led by Pam Cole's sister.
The Moench Strings sounded faultless! The highlight of the party, though, was just being with good friends.
