How to Exhaust Two Kids...and Ourselves

Camille and Steve took their family to Lake Powell--all but Ezra and Mia. On July 30, 2011, Dave and I tended those two adorable, endlessly energetic children. My strategy was to do so many fun things that they would be too busy and too tired to be even a bit naughty. We started at The Gateway, where Ezra ran through the water fountain.

We had ice cream at Ben & Jerry's.

We followed that, almost immediately, with fries and orange juice at McDonalds (dessert first, of course).

Dave joined us at the zoo. Ezra loved the merry-go-round and the statue of the gorilla.

Mia loved the giant egg at the playground that she could crawl inside.

We all loved the peacock and other animals.

We finished the day at Spaghetti Factory, so tired that our heads nearly dropped into our meatballs.
