Samuel Spendlove was born at 2 a.m. on July 5, 2013. Jonny emailed us this photo, with a face that looked hauntingly like Jonny himself, as a newborn. "I don't see anything in that baby that looks like you at all," Jenny's mom told her, although that changed as Samuel's face gained some Leatham roundness. We cherished all Jonny's photos of Samuel--Samuel enjoying tummy time with his dad, Samuel in his naked beauty.

It was our last day in the Berkshires. Camille wanted to get the kids away from the TV and swimming pool, and she found a spectacular waterfall in a state park for us to hike to.
There was a huge stone bowl, halfway up the waterfall, that Jono, Grant, and Spencer crawled into. They lounged in the bowl, with water pouring in from the waterfall above and out to the waterfall below. Below, the little kids played in the spray.
We took some great family portraits.

Nice comment, "Samuel in his naked beauty". Looks like we saw Jonny in his naked beauty as well.
I know that sacrifices were made, but this was one of my favorite days! It was also so exciting to receive news of Samuel. We can't wait for him to join in the fun as well!
