52 Years

On June 10, 2022, Dave and I celebrated out 52nd wedding anniversary.  Yellowed photographs reminded us of that exciting day.  We were married in the Salt Lake Temple by my uncle, Spencer Kimball.  Dave's bishop didn't know that Uncle Spencer and I were related, and he asked if Elder Kimball always kissed the bride when he performed weddings!

We celebrated our wedding at a reception at my parents' house in East Millcreek.  My mother had done the event up right, including a bird cage in the trees as the guests walked to the front door or our house, a harpist in the living room near the reception line, and a full dinner buffet on the breezeway, presided over by Aunt Sally!

It became family lore that one of guests mistook Dave's mother for the bride!

The Spendlove men included Dave's brother, Michael, who later died in a motorcycle accident as a 17-year-old.
