Manti and Ephraim (9.5.26)

The Manti Temple has long been one of our favorites.  It is a pioneer era temple, along with the Salt Lake, St. George, and Logan Temples. - It is also where Mike and Heidi got married, in a corner room of the temple, up a circular staircase.  We visited both the remodeled Manti Temple and the new, nearby Ephraim Temple on September 5, 2026.

The Manti Temple was recently remodeled and, in response to local pleas, the Church kept the Minerva Teichert murals in the endowment rooms.  The interior decorator also kept many Victorian accents, such as flowered carpets.

Temples are always beautifully landscaped, with lots of bright flowers.-------------------------

The new Ephraim Temple is just a 15 minute drive from the Manti Temple.  We were told that one reason for the Ephraim Temple being so close to the Manti Temple is that, in keeping the pioneer floor plan of the Manti Temple, the designers couldn't make the temple fully accessible. The Ephraim Temple complies with the latest protections for older people and people with disabilities.  Ephraim is also a college town, and a temple is important for the Church's new emphasis on young people getting involved early in temple attendance.
We ate lunch at Charlee's, a Manti restaurant with very good chili, salads, and flavored lemonades.
