Greece Trip: Santorini (5.1.24)

Santorini is the poster child of Greece.  The island is drop dead gorgeous, in the iconic blue-and-white way that reminds everyone of Greece.  We visited the island of Santorini on May 1, 2024.  We were awed by its beauty, but also frustrated with the overwhelming crowds.  This would be a place to come off-season!

The main city on Santorini is perched on top of a mountainside, with the blue crater left by a volcano in the bay below.

We returned to the dock by cable car.

Santorini was a shopping Mecca, with jewelry, clothing, and pottery offered in bright, stylish profusion.  I wandered from shop to shop.

Even the doors on Santorini were beautiful--bright blue against white stucco, sometimes adorned with designs or flowering vines.
