Everything Pink

I hosted a Valentines Day dinner on February 6, 2022.  Before Camille said the prayer over the food, I told our crowd, “There’s nothing weird about this dinner—no strange food.  It’s a Valentines dinner, and I just want to tell all of you that I love you!”

I served cranberry wassail and a charcuterie board for the appetizer, followed by a main course of filet mignon, sautéed mushrooms, scalloped potatoes, a green salad, and hot rolls.  For dessert, we had flourless chocolate cake served with whipped cream and raspberries.  Everything that could be pink, was.  I had pink embroidered tablecloths on all the tables, pink paper napkins for the appetizers, fresh pink carnations, and little pink bags of Lindt chocolates as favors.

We had a fun group of guests—Camille with her three youngest children (Sophie, Ezra, and Mia), Jono and Sarah, Spencer and Naomi, Heidi and Audrey, Grant and Meg, and Alan and Shauna.

The hot rolls were a popular item.  Ezra came back for seconds, and took two.  Jono ate eight rolls.  “They were small,” he explained. “So that would be the equivalent of just four big ones?” Camille smiled.
Eliza is constantly in motion, with much of that energy spent moving cans in and out of cupboards, or transporting dolls from one shelf to another!  She is an organizer.
Eliza also makes "funny faces."
Naomi is Eliza's proud mother.
