On March 4, 2022, we ate dinner with the Joneses, Wildes, and Emmers, our college friends. Julie Emmer had outdone herself with flower arrangements, candles, and very good food. I brought a sachertorte. However, it was the conversation, filled with laughing and fond memories, that made this event so special. We also gained a whiff of our own mortality as Deanne and Bob confided that Bob has Parkinson's disease.
