Jonny Gets the Best

"Your Argentine dinner is my favorite," Jonny said, when I asked him what I should cook for the last Sunday dinner before Jonny and his family drove back to Iowa.  On January 2, 2022, we ate Argentinian food--grilled flank steak, shrimp, and sausage with chimichurri sauce; sangria; and dulce de leche ice cream with altafores cookies.

It was a treat to have Jenny with us.  She is petite and gets very ill with her pregnancies.  Jenny looked so much more comfortable, now that she is through with bearing great big boy babies!

They call it a "den," a "man cave" or a "rumpus room."  Those names for a basement family room seemed apt as I looked at photos of Jonny's boys playing and fake-fighting in our basement after dinner.

Thomas emerged upstairs, waving his creation, made with my plastic blocks.
Eliza (Spencer and Naomi's one-year-old) is a "rumpus-maker" of a different sort.  She was constantly in motion, at dinner, exploring the piano and the mysteries under the dining room table.

Lily (Michael K and Rebekah's daughter) is still floor-bound, but she is very alert, and notes whatever is happening around her.
Dave avoided all the commotion by keeping track of his Church texts on his iPhone.
And Jonny avoided the commotion under a pile of pillows!
