Jonny in Vegas

It was a command performance and a beloved duty.   Each year Jonny's high school buddies gather in St. George for a weekend of hot tubbing, hiking, and talking late into the night.  Jonny flies in from wherever he is to help keep his friends together.  Jonny arrived in Vegas from Des Moines on January 16, 2015.  Dave and I drove down to shepherd him back and forth from Vegas to the Leavitts' house in St. George.  We feasted on the rinds of Jonny's trip home.
There was time to pause in Vegas for an early dinner at the Bellagio buffet.  Dave made sure a piece of food was hanging out of his mouth as I took the picture.
We made our usual pilgrimage to the Bellagio lobby with its Chihuly stained glass ceiling, and the Conservatory with its lavish flower displays.
The Conservatory was decorated for Chinese New Year.

Jonny and I checked out the display of Faberge eggs and jewelry at the Bellagio gallery.
We looked over the lavish Bellagio grounds--a typically Las Vegan attempt to recreate a Tuscan villa in the Nevada desert.

We waited for the Bellagio fountains to dance.

We explored how a mime could hang in mid-air, supported only by his cane.  And then we drove Jonny to his real party in St. George.
Bright and early Sunday morning, Jonny was at our St. George house, backpack around his shoulders and iPhone in his hand, ready for the drive to Las Vegas and the flight home to Des Moines.  Every minute we have with him is precious.
