"Let's have a cooking lesson!" Camille and I decided. We wanted to teach Annelise, Sophia, and Emilie to love to throw parties and to experiment with new foods, like we do. We priced cooking lessons at Thanksgiving Point and Orson Gygi's--$40 and $60 apiece--and decided to do the teaching ourselves. Camille and her three oldest daughters came to their Grandma's house two hours before dinner time on Sunday, January 11, 2015. I had the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks open, with a recipe and ingredients for each girl. Annelise made the homemade tomato soup. There were perks to being a chef, like getting to wear Grandma's cool pink goggles to peel onions.
Emilie made the pork tenderloin.
Sophia made the roasted butternut squash.
Camille made the puff pastry apple tart. We laughed and learned, and we shared the great results with Mia and the guys.
