Silver and Gold

As I think of old friends, I remember a Girl Scout song I sang as a girl, "Make new friends, but keep the old.  One is silver and the other gold."  On August 21, 2021, we attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for our friends, Spencer and Jane Jones.  Jane is at the center of the photo, above, Paul and Julie Emmer are on the left, and Deanne Wilde is on the right.  

Jane Ridd Jones and Deanne Henrikson Wilde were my bridesmaids so many years ago, and Paul Emmer  was Dave's close friend in college, before we were married.  Now that our children are grown, the four couples have become close friends once again.  

Pre-Covid, we spent a wonderful weekend together, exploring the Jones' sheep farm in Cedar City and then spending a day at our home in St. George.  Dave and I love making new friends, but our relationship with the Joneses, Wildes, and Emmers is truly golden.
