Chess and Charcuterie

"Our kids are cerebral," was how the YW president described it.  When setting the schedule of weekly activities for these teenagers, they reserved a spot for a chess night.  "Shall we have an expert come to give you some tips?" we asked.  "No," they insisted.  "We'll teach each other."  I brought a charcuterie board to add some color.

The evening was a great success, with the teens separating into couples to learn and to match wits.  I played three games with one of the Young Women, and lost all three.

As we were leaving, the host family offered to let us hold their snake.  Of course!

Next up:  sushi-making!
