The Flindts were Dave's and my houseguests over Christmas 2022, and we adored having extra time with them. Spencer and Naomi move to Houston the week after Christmas, with darling Eliza, and they have already turned their house into a B'n'B. They were our houseguests, along with the rest of the family. Kyle, Lisa, and Alyssa arrived from Seattle, Bryce and Kirsten moved up from Provo, and we were missing only Grant and Meg (in Cambodia) and Michael K and Rebekah (in Georgia with Rebekah's family). I laid out big bowls of caramels (which my Flindt grandchildren had helped wrap) and we talked on and on.
Lisa bought new PJs for the family for Christmas Eve.
Alyssa, Kirsten, and Bryce opened their presents from Santa (aka Lisa and Kyle) before we left for Church on Christmas morning.
Lisa presented Kirsten with a beautiful handmade quilt, for which Kirsten had chosen the colors.
Bryce got manly things, like athletic jerseys.
Kyle, all dressed for Church, enjoyed the spectacle.
Kirsten enjoyed being reunited with Eliza over the Christmas holidays. Kirsten and Meg were both babysitters for Eliza as Naomi worked in her lab to get her Ph.D in chemistry.

The thought of Spencer and Naomi moving, and of their taking Eliza with them, is hard to bear. The Christmas holidays were a precious time to store up memories.
